Our story began at Michigan State University, where we both pursued academic and athletic careers (Football and Field Hockey). We first caught sight of each other in the athletic training room, getting fitted for mouth guards. Although there was no communication at that moment, Dan vividly remembers the glances exchanged.

During our respective sports seasons, there was little opportunity for interaction between our two teams. However, fate had other plans for us. That December, a mutual friend of ours, a fellow Spartan student athlete, hosted a Christmas party. Dan dressed up as Santa Claus, catching my attention and sparking our connection.

Our first official date (12.2018) took place at Breslin (the MSU basketball arena), where we attended a basketball game. However, due to Dan's size, we had to leave as he couldn't fit comfortably in the seats. Nevertheless, our bond continued to grow, and the day before winter break, we decided to make our relationship official.

The next four years were filled with a mix of academics, practices, games, away trips, parties, and dates. We experienced both ups and downs, but our love persevered. Then, the unexpected happened - the Covid-19 pandemic struck, forcing us to be separated for months. However, we relied on FaceTime to stay connected and found that our love only grew stronger during this challenging time.

After graduation, I was determined to move to Chicago, and Dan had no choice but to follow me (just kidding). Our first year in the city was an adjustment as we navigated our adult careers, paid bills, and experienced late nights at work (for Dan). We also explored many new places together, creating cherished memories.

As our second year in the city began, Dan knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. On a perfect day in May of 2022, Dan proposed, and I joyfully said yes! Now, our story continues to unfold, and we are excited to have everyone be a part of it.

In conclusion, our story is a testament to the power of fate and love. From the initial glances in the athletic training room to the challenges faced during the pandemic our relationship has grown and flourished. We have overcome obstacles, celebrated milestones, and are now embarking on the next chapter of our lives together. Our story is a reminder that love can conquer all and that the best is yet to come.
